Baaghi 3 movie review
Baaghi 3, the movie with so much hype has finally arrived in theaters and reviews are just not the way the team would've expected them to be. The story in just a sentence would be, an elder brother is kidnapped by a terrorist group and the younger brother sets off for a mission to rescue him. Ronnie, a character which now every action film fanatic in India is familiar with. In a not so overwhelming script, Ronnie just appears from somewhere when his elder brother Vikram is in trouble. The character justification is very weak. Riteish Deshmukh who plays Vikram has some kind of emotional disability, but still lands a job in Police services. Shraddha Kapoor hasn't been given much importance since the story is based on brotherhood. But she does bring some comic relief in first half. Jackie Shroff and Vijay Verma on the other hand have done commendable roles and have lent a good support.
Tiger Shroff has clearly emerged as one of the most dependables when it comes to action films. His action sequences are a treat to watch, but fails to create impact when it comes to humor and emotional scenes. His only motto in the film is to protect his brother whenever in trouble. His brother just screams 'Ronnie.....' and he appears from nowhere. Vikram, the character played by riteish Deshmukh is very hard to digest. He has some emotional disability which is not clearly revealed in the film, yet he is appointed as a Police officer. Vikram who asks Ronnie to help hims when in trouble is appointed to help other people in trouble. It's just not convincing enough. Shraddha Kapoor who is the love of Ronnie has a very subtle role in the film with not much screen sharing. But she does add some comic scenes in the first half and some good action sequences in the second. I personally thought she should've given more screen importance as she also has some impacts. Given her huge fan following and recent form, she could add a good number at box office just by her presence. In a plot twist Riteish Deshmukh, is appointed in Syria and sets to leave. There he is been kidnapped by a terrorist group called Jaish-e-Lashkar when Vikram is in video call with Ronnie. Ronnie gets furiously angry and sets off to Syria to rescue his brother along with Shraddha.
Vijay Varma who gained fame by playing Moin in Gully Boy has quite an interesting and important role. He helps Ronnie to reunite with his brother. His is multilayered role which is so well played by him that the audience were surprised to see him. He adds some life to the not so lively script with his remarkable acting and character. Jacki Shroff who plays role of Tiger's father in film has not made such an impact but it sure gives a sense of lovable moment to see the off-screen father-son duo on-screen too.
The villains in Baaghi 3 are quite impressive and realistic. They sense some terror during their scenes and have an impact. One is Israeli actor Jameel Khoury who is portrayed as the main villain and have some serious terrifying scenes. He adds some chill and terror at the same time and is worth watching him. The other two are Jaideep Ahlawat and Ivan Kostadinov. Jaideep was previously seen in movies like Raazi where he played senior RAW agent and Gabbar is back! where he played an Intelligence Officer. Ivan Kostadinov was a stunt master who turned into actor. All the villains do add some chills in the movie.
There are good action sequences, emotional scenes, slow motion captures and heroic display of action. But none can deny the fact that the script is too weak to worth a watch. Only give it a try if you're a die hard fan of either of the star cast or the action films.
