Thappad, the critically acclaimed movie which has taken all the Bollywood's prominent reviewers in its wave of awe. Early trends showed very limited footfalls but as the reviews came in, the trends changed and the biz went up. Thappad collected 3.07 crores on Friday. With all the overwhelming reviews and appreciation by the media, the biz is supposed to double or collect even more. Since films creating social awareness are not pretty much entertained in India, the biz of such films is usually low but is respectable enough. But films like these are the ones who bag the most critic related awards at award functions and film festivals. Lets hope this one's gonna be a table turner.

Other Bollywood films like Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Bhoot are also collecting well. SMZS collected 46.92 crores till now and is expected to cross the 50 crores mark this weekend. Comparing with previous works of Ayushmann, this film was no different but since homosexuality is treated abnormally in India, many peoples hesitated to go watch this film in theaters with family and that is the reason the biz is quite low for this one. Bhoot on the other hand has collected 25.2 crores. The biz will surely be affected by Thappad's presence at the theaters. 

A special screening of the Sooryavanshi trailer was held for Bollywood critics and the response by them is something to take note of. The trailer is said to be about 4 minutes long which very unusual. Akshay Kumar is seen doing stunts and the action film will be a good comeback for him too as an action hero.
